FAQ

Answers to our most frequently asked questions

How long does it take to publish a book with you? Because we are a small business and only take on about 5 clients at a time, we can provide high quality and be quick to market. While discussing contracts, we will review a custom timeline together.

Do I have to buy an ISBN if you publish my work? Every version and format of a book must have its own ISBN to be sold in book stores and online. You can either buy them yourself from Bowker for $125/each per book per version and sometimes per platform (isbn.org) or choose to include them in our contract. For books published with Peace of Prose Publishing, LLC, ISBNs are offered at a severely reduced rate as we purchase them in mass quantities for your books to reach a larger market. This does not affect your copyright.

Do I need to register my work under a copyright? No, it is not required to have a copyright registration on your work in order to write "Copyright year, your name" in your front matter. Per copyright.gov, "Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device." However, registering a copyright in your name does add legal protection you may wish to consider, and it is entirely up to you. Every book published with Peace of Prose Publishing, LLC will leave the copyright attributed to the author as we will not seek to own your work. We recommend speaking with a copyright attorney to learn more and make informed decisions about your copyright.

Can I record an audiobook with my work? Yes! We can work with you to have an audiobook recorded for your book.
